G-Post — Last Christmas, I felt like going out on a movie date with hubby. But as it turned out, there was really nothing “screen-worthy”, that is, something that is really worth taking out our precious dough and spending it on a film.
Additionally, we got so busy with going back and forth my parents’ house as well as the parties that attended that we hardly had time to sneak out for some entertainment.
But at least we had some vacation on New Year’s Eve. We traveled for five hours to a different province and stayed in a very nice hotel with a swimming pool. Too bad we did not have the time to take advantage of their amenities. I am not sure if their pool was powered by one of those pentair pool pumps but it was nice and clean. Too bad…that was my only regret.
Anyway, I still can’t say that we are back to normal around here. We are still not living in our own house but rather at my parents’ place, sort of like caretakers. Haha And when we go back, it will not be the same again—thanks to this pleasant new surprise in our lives. Will let you in on it later *wink*…when we have informed some very important people.
Hubby and I often watch movies at home. I mean we watch films on DVD or sometimes from online files. While we get the gist of the story, there is just something missing in these movie viewing times.
For one, our TV is so small–just 14 inches–so you cannot actually feel like you are watching a movie. It is like you are just watching regular television programming. Additionally, we do not have good quality speakers or UltraSound Amplifiers so our viewing experience is indeed a far-cry from what we can have in the theater.
And most of the time, we mute the sound and just have subtitles because we can only watch the movies that we want when Dindin is already asleep.
Sigh…That is why Dennis and I always look forward to going to the theater to watch movies. But since we do not really have a lot of time, we can only count the number of times that we go to the cinema with the fingers on one hand. I am not sure if we have a movie outing scheduled anymore for this year. Sigh…
When the rainy days are here, people find it difficult to move or work. It is like having lazy days. I am not sure if the sun is not there to “enlighten” us or give us energy, or it is because it is wet outside that it is nice to stay indoors.
Whatever the reason, it is nice to stay in one’s bedroom, wear pajamas, have something warm to eat or drink while watching movies or videos. That is the time to browse through your dvd cabinet and check out the movies that you miss or you haven’t watched at all because you were always out.
Like today, I already ate junk food because it seems that I am craving for it. And honestly, I would like to just sit with my daughter as she watches Elmo. hehe It is not rainy now, but it is still cool, cloudy, and yes, gloomy.
Oh well, mothers have to work, so here I am working. Ta-ta!
