Kristen Wiig and Ben Stiller

Kristen Wiig and Ben Stiller on the set of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in New York. Stiller, 46, is barely recognizable.

Kristen Wiig and Ben Stiller portray the lead roles in the remake of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”

Due in theaters next year, the movie is being film in New York and is directed by Stiller himself. First released in 1947, this is the story of a man who was a shy yet imaginative photo editor who kinda lives in his world. He is taken out of his daydreams and sheltered life when one of his negatives end up missing. That is when his adventures begin.

The film originally starred Danny Kaye and Virginia Mayo and was based from a short story by James Thurber.

Bridesmaids Movie 2011

Bridesmaids

The bride and her maids were the main characters of the story.

Hubby and I (or at least me) are always on the lookout for feel-good movies. And one of the movies that we watched was Bridesmaids, a film released in 2011. It was a comedic piece written by actress Kristen Wiig (who is the also the main character of the film) and Annie Mumolo.

Directed by Paul Feig, the plot of the movie revolves around Wiig’s character Annie who has encountered so many misfortunes in life and love. But moist of the scenes are spent on how her life went awry when she was asked to be the maid of honor for the wedding of her best friend, Lilian (Maya Rudolph). The other bridesmaids were played by Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper, and Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Well, it is another film where the main characters make utter fools of themselves before finally getting redemption. It is a feel-good movie that first makes your stomach churn because of the embarrassments that they do.

Bridesmaids scene

A scene from the movie where they were about to choose their gowns.

But what made this movie a critical success is the quality of the script. The film is fast, not boring, very interesting, and very witty. The characters and their speaking lines have been well thought of. And the performances are also very good. And I think that Melissa McCarthy was great in the movie and her character was really interesting.

So if you haven’t watched Bridesmaids yet, then you better. :D
