Linda Boreman, who was better known in the adult film industry as Linda Lovelace was a porn actor in the 70s who eventually became a famous name in mainstream cinema. She was best remembered for her part in the movie Deep Throat, which she starred alongside another X-rated actor, Harry Reems in 1972.
Her story is now being filmed in a porn bio-epic that stars Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia). Lovelace claims that it was not her intention to be in the porn industry. She was only forced by her husband Chuck Traynor (played by Peter Sarsgaard). Now, the cast is joined in by Demi Moore and Adam Brody. Moore plays the character of the celebrated feminist Gloria Steinem while Brody reprises Reems.
The movie began shooting last month and it will try to depict the controversial life and love of Linda Lovelace. Boreman eventually denounced her films and became an anti-porn activist. She died in 2002 in a car accident.
Veteran actor Eric Roberts is also part of the cast. He plays the role of lie detector expert Nat Laurendi who questioned Lovelace for the facts in her book entitled Ordeal.
Other stars in the movie are Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Hank Azaria, Robert Patrick, Bobby Cannavale, and Chris Noth. It is being directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, who is best known for the Allen Ginsberg film, Howl.
It is interesting to note that there is another bio-pic about Lovelace that is being created. This one is entitled Inferno and the infamous porn actress is played by Malin Ackerman.
