Friends with Benefits

On one date night again, hubby and I watched Friends with Benefits. It is a nice and light romantic comedy movie–the kind of film that we like to watch as our bonding time.

Anyway, the movie stars pop star Justin Timberlake and the sexy Mila Kunis. I like the movie because the ending is like a modern-day fairy tale. Though I do not exactly like the storyline if it is gonna happen in real-life, I do like their portrayal. Justin and Mila have a nice onscreen chemistry and they really look comfortable together.

Since Justin is a singer, they script has exploited this fact and has made the guy sing some lines in the movie. And I think that is great.

Friends with Benefits has a similar plot to the Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman movie–No Strings Attached. But I think that FWB is much better because Ashton and Natalie do not seem to be a nice match. It was bad casting.

No Strings Attached starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher

We got interested with No Strings Attached because of the publicity that the more recent Friends With Benefitswas stirring.

So naturally, one night, we watched the movie. The story is about a doctor (played by Natalie Portman) who does not want a relationship. She is only after sex. When she meets the character of Ashton Kutcher, a long-time acquaintance, they hook up with the arrangement that he will be ready to jump into bed with her whenever she is stressed and wants some canoodling.

Things were fine at first, but of course, we know that sex isn’t the end all and be all of a relationships so eventually there were complications.

The movie is interesting for us because we wondered if people really do this. But I guess with two movies on the topic, then it is probably fairly common. We had a good laugh, too.

Although some critics did not like Kutcher for the leading man role, I think he is perfect. He is like the perfect dork there. haha
