The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

So we finally got to watch The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) starring Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and Rhys Ifans (Dr. Kurt Connors/The Lizard).

We left Dindin with the helper so that hubby and I can have our movie date. It is our couple’s time. It is way past by birthday now. We just got so busy and didn’t have the time during my birthday. Related story: Movie Date on My Birthday

So what can I say about the movie? Well, although my husband says that the storyline is quite accurate as it was in the comics, I cannot really say that I am thrilled to watch it. I guess I am not satisfied. While the story was explored in the movie, it is not as exciting as I thought it would be. Or maybe I just got used to The Avengers? I mean am I looking for such standard in superhero movies?

I am not a movie critic. If ever, I judge a film by how it stimulates my emotions. And honestly, this movie does not excite me at all. And it does not help that I felt cheated by the fact that this is reboot. Oh well.

By the way, this is the first time that I saw Emma Stone as a blond girl. Hubby says that is her natural hair color. Imagine that? But I think she is more appealing as a brunette. :D

The Amazing Spider-Man also stars Denis Leary (Captain Stacy), Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben), Sally Field (Aunt May), Irrfan Khan (Rajit Ratha), Campbell Scott (Richard Parker), and Embeth Davidtz (Mary Parker). Directed by Marc Webb.

Movie Date on My Birthday

I really have nothing planned on my birthday. One of the good things that I can think of doing is to take the day off and go watch a movie. I am just not sure what we will watch.

We haven’t watched the The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) yet, so we might watch that. It is a reboot of the Tobey Maguire series and hubby says that this story is the closest to the comics version. The most glaring different with the past movies is the love interest of Spidey–it was actually Gwen Stacy. MJ came much later.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield in the title role, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Kurt Connors a.k.a. The Lizard. Hubby says that The Lizard was the first nemesis of Spider-Man and not Green Goblin. Ok! hehe

Anyway, we will see what will happen in the next few days. We have to arrange for a sitter for Dindin in order to catch this movie. :D

Easy A

Easy A

Easy A stars Emma Stone

Easy A is the first movie I watched that starred Emma Stone. She is super cute in this flick.

This is a teenage film that has a some drama, some humorous situations (especially with the Penderghast family situations), and deep sensitivities in our culture, such as teen sex, losing virginity, sexually-transmitted diseases, divorce, and peer pressure.

It has a lot of narratives told in the first person by Stone, who plays the role of Olive Penderghast.

The movie is loosely based in the classic novel The Scarlett Letter, while criticizing the movie adaptation that starred Demi Moore.

My husband and I were highly entertained. This was one of the movies that we watched after midnight while munching on junk food.

Easy A stars Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Cam Gigandet, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm McDowell, Alyson Michalka, and Stanley Tucci. The story was written by Bert V. Royal while the film was directed by Will Gluck.
