The story of Karen Klein is something like out of the movies or a TV drama. You see, she is an elderly lady who is working as a bus monitor in the Greece School District.
She was bullied verbally by four Athena Middle School and the incident was caught in a cellphone camera. When it became viral, many people around the world were angered. The students were suspended for a year while Klein and her plight were given a lot of media hype. Then an online movement called was mobilized. It was entitled “Lets Give Karen – The bus monitor – H Klein A Vacation!“.
That movement has raised more than $700,000 and now Klein has decided to retire. She said that she did not quit because of the bullying but really because it was time to move on. And she should because that is already a big retirement money for someone who is already 68.
Maybe she should just invest in pc desktops and set up a cafe with internet so that she can have a sustainable business in downtown New York.
Gee…I really think that a producer should look at producing a movie about her life. Because prior to the bullying incident, Klein has had many troubling incidents in the past.
