When my brother and I traveled last week, we really talked extensively of how we loved The Avengers movie. Actually, he was scheduled to watch a second time when he back to Manila. He wanted to watch the 3D version.

Now, I know that we are not the only ones raving about the The Avengers. You see, the movie has set a new record in the domestic box office because it earned a whopping $200.3 million on its opening weekend this summer 2012. It is the largest by far in history, beating even Harry Potter.

And overseas, the superhero film earned $441.5 million, which makes its worldwide total of $641.8 million. For only one weekend, it had already surpassed the lifetime totals of other superhero flicks, namely Captain America: The First Avenger ($364 million), Thor ($449 million), Iron Man ($585 million), and Iron Man 2 ($624 million). Imagine that!

It is reported that The Avengers may earn a total of $1 billion worldwide. Well, the movie is really deserving so job well done to everyone involved!

The billionaire author of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling, made one admission–she wanted to kill the character of Ron Weasley in the middle of the series.

Rowling confided this in an interview to Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe for the DVD special feature of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which will come out this November. In the conversation, Radcliffe told Rowling that he thought he was not gonna make it throughout the movie and that was when the author admitted that it was the character of Ron Weasly that was supposed to be killed.

The author wanted the three main characters to make it to the end, however, she had experienced some problems and thought that she wanted to take out Weasly “out of sheer spite.” But because Weasly had so many fans and also because of Hermione, his love interest in the story, Rowling did not push through with her sinister plan.

Otherwise, Harry Potter fans all over the world would not only be sad but will demand that he be brought back to life. LOL Rowling said as reported by Yahoo movies news, “It’s a real relief to be able to talk about it all.”

Movie Feature: Toy Story 3 (2010)

Synopsis:

TOY STORY 3 welcomes Woody, Buzz and the whole gang back to the big screen as Andy prepares to depart for college and his loyal toys find themselves in… daycare! These untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice, so it’s all for one and one for all as plans for the Great Escape get underway. A few new faces—some plastic, some plush–join the adventure, including Barbie’s counterpart Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants and a pink, strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear.

Directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2″ and “Finding Nemo”), produced by Pixar veteran Darla K. Anderson (“Cars,” “Monsters, Inc.”), and written by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt (“Little Miss Sunshine”), TOY STORY 3 is a comical new adventure in Disney Digital 3D™.
