Summer Fan…I Mean Fun

It is soooo hot! I just got back from a three-day vacation in Bohol the other night and it is just very hot wherever you go. It is summertime! It seems that if I want to save energy on air conditioning, I should just go out and stay on the patio where an outdoor misting fan is installed!

Yeah, in this weather and temperature, a lot of people stand to get dehydrated. So the best thing to do is to drink a lot of water and then maybe some Gatorade so as to maintain the moisture inside the body. It would also be good to spray yourself with water from time to time so that the body heat will disperse. If you can take a bath three times a day that would be best, even if it is just a shower to cool yourself off.

That is why a misting fan would be a great investment at this time. You can have one outdoors, like on the terrace, then maybe a smaller one inside the house. You can have one unit each of small misting fan inside the living room, the dining room, and the bedroom so that the heat is controlled without you having to spend so much on electricity.

Piper Perabo and Eion Bailey on Covert Affairs

I could just imagine the heat in the beach scenes of Piper Perabo and Eion Bailey in the opening scenes of Covert Affairs. The scenes were taken on a summer night in a tropical paradise and they were sweating so it seems really hot. But they were in love so they seem to be oblivious to the heat around them. Geezz…if it were me, I would put a misting fan to spray some coolness on their hot bodies! lOL

Bride Wars

Bride Wars

Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars

Bride Wars is the romantic comedy film that is quite memorable for me in the sense that I felt so affected with the fact that two best friends became the worst enemies just because both of them wanted to have the perfect wedding.

Cirected by Gary Winick and written by Greg DePaul, June Diane Raphael and Casey Wilson, Bride Wars stars the indefatigable Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, veteran actress Candice Bergen, Bryan Greenberg, Chris Pratt, Steve Howey and Kristen Johnston.

Bride Wars Synopsis
According to Wikipedia:

Emma Allen (Anne Hathaway) and Olivia ‘Liv’ Lerner (Kate Hudson) are best friends who have planned every detail of their weddings, since first witnessing a wedding 20 years ago at the Plaza Hotel. Therefore, they both have made it a lifetime priority to be married in the same location in June.

The movie begins with the two women getting engaged at the age of 26. They then schedule their weddings with New York’s most famous wedding planner, Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen), but due to a clerical error they are scheduled to have a wedding on the same day, June 6 (3 and a half months later). A week of passive aggressive hostility passes before the two women make it clear that neither will compromise, especially after Liv tries to take advantage of Emma’s passive nature and outrages Emma in the process. During this time, Emma’s fiancé, Fletcher (Chris Pratt), begins to show signs of being controlling.

Both women attempt to sabotage each other’s wedding, including Liv making Emma’s tan turn bright orange, Emma tampering with Liv’s hair dye to turn Liv’s hair a shocking blue-white colour, Emma showing up to Liv’s bachelorette party to out-dance her, and Emma secretly sending Liv candy to make her too fat to fit into her dress. Eventually, Emma and Fletcher get into an argument regarding Emma’s manic behavior of sabotaging Liv’s wedding and their friendship.

Sometimes I wonder if these situations have actually happened in real life. Would you really give up a life-long friendship for a wedding? Anyway, in the movie though, it was just as well because Hathaway’s character found out that her fiance is a rather control freak and that she is better off without him. Oh well, I guess I can say that everything ends up well for this movie.

Transformers Movies

Transformers 3

Transformers 3

You know what? I love these super hero flick. I am not sure why but the excitement was heightened because my husband is such a fan and of course, we watch these movies together. No, they are not romantic, but it is nice to find something that we both like.

Hehe You would wonder what I would so like about these Transformers because they are robotic? They are just made of metal and held together with bolts and slot nuts.

Well, maybe it is because of the action. Or maybe because of the human interest. Or maybe because despite the destruction, it is not realistic because we all know that such giant robots, both good and bad, do not exist.

But anyway, I do like the Transformers but I would not like to collect them though. They’re not cute. LOL Thankfully, my husband is not asking to collect action figures. But we just bought Avengers toys from Petron. teehee The movie was just so memorable for us that we can’t help but buy these toys. And well, it helped that they are cheap. teehee
